Summer weddings are upon us and many couples opt for an outdoor wedding.  Outdoor summer weddings are beautiful and we love the natural backdrop. For summer weddings, the downside is the heat, especially here in the south which can make it uncomfortable for wedding participants and guests.  You don’t have to completely eliminate the outdoor options off your list, but remember these few tips and it will make it more enjoyable for everyone!!

Have your wedding during the cooler part of the day and in a shaded area or provide a tent if possible. Also, make sure your wedding participants’ attire are lighter in both color and material.

Serve a frozen treat: Whether it’s gourmet ice cream or popsicles for the kids or alcohol infused treats for the adults. Something cold and flavorful is sure to be a hit.

Kingofpops_HarwellPhotographyHave lots of cool water on hand:  Water cooling stations infused with fruit or cucumber is not only pretty to look at but also great for keeping guest cool at summer outdoor weddings. Accessorize your summer outdoor wedding with cooling options for your guests: Consider printing programs on fans. Use parasols as aisle décor or at each guest seat. The parasols will not only provide guests with their own personal source of shade but if you get them in your wedding colors they will add color dimension to your outdoor celebration.

Cassidy and Josh met while attending college at Georgia Tech and found that they many similarities including that they are both Georgia natives. To celebrate their upcoming wedding, they recently had an engagement session with Jeremy Harwell of Harwell Photography, who took them around Atlanta and captured these fun pictures. Transforming an idea into reality is an exhilarating part of my job. I listen carefully to my brides’ and grooms’ dreams, brainstorm with them and work around whatever challenges arise.

Here we created a modern Western world event that meshed with the couple’s traditional Persian nuptials. The bride wanted a large clear tent set in a classic, lush location. Together we scouted many scenic venues, but when the budget would not accommodate her vision, we thought outside the box – and tent – and I was able to create the picturesque ambiance her heart desired.

We chose Monaluce Winery & Estates, which provided a gorgeous sweeping lakeside landscape for the Persian cultural ceremony – fresh air openness in lieu of a clear tent. Continuing with the alfresco theme, the private reception area featured a grand balcony overlooking the vineyards. We designated this space for the dance floor and contemporary lounge seating.

Focusing on the bride’s request for an abundance of flowers, I collaborated with The Perfect Stem. Taking the dramatic hydrangea-dominant arrangements that flanked the ceremony aisle as well as the bridesmaids’ bouquets, we repurposed them during the reception as dining table centerpieces to help keep costs down while amping up and maximizing use of the floral décor.Collage-2
From whisking away the newlyweds in a stylish horse-drawn carriage after declaring their “I Dos” to adding whimsical elegance with paper parasols and handmade fans that doubled as wedding programs to a magical finale with family and friends sending the lovebirds off with hundreds of sparklers ablaze, I integrated several special elements into the day to grant the bride’s wishes for a romantic, airy affair.

As a bridal stylist, I encounter many brides that have varying visions for their wedding day.  If I were to define their styles, I would say the modern style incorporates a pop of color somewhere in their look, whether a bold shoe or a shimmering statement necklace. The fashion-forward style takes it up a notch by going for the glitz, the drama and that chic piece that their guests will be talking about all night long! No matter what type of bride we are referring to, the color blush is versatile for all brides…but the magic lies in how she carries that hue off on her wedding day. Every blushing bride deserves a touch of blush in her wedding day look.

A coral lip paired with blush whether it’s a shoe or your gown compliments your overall look.42605a9659fd7d659eb65807045d19bf

Held earlier this month, our first ever Wedding Talk event was absolutely fabulous! The truly intimate, entirely interactive and completely innovative bridal show was hosted in the Grand Ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta and provided engaged couples exclusive face time with the area’s top wedding professionals.
 Wedding Talk (85 of 123)
This new, more personal approach to the traditional massive bridal convention format provided a unique opportunity for couples heading down the aisle to connect with some of the most talented vendors in Atlanta, hear their expert advice, learn about trends, find inspiration, participate in Q-&-A sessions, and in many cases, experience their stellar services and sample their incredible creations firsthand!Wedding Talk (89 of 123)
With eye candy in every direction and the attention to detail brides and grooms can expect to receive at their own weddings, the premier wedding specialists showcased at the Wedding Talk presented their range of offerings in four different settings. For example, a clean, crisp snowy white lounge-inspired section included health and wellness providers. A black-and-silver Great Gatsby vignette accommodated many groom-related areas, such as jewelry design and attire consulting. An upscale table design dressed in classic black-and-white featured an array of elegant flatware, glassware, China and linen rentals, gorgeous floral arrangements and other décor options. And an unforgettable mock ceremony section was created with acrylic chairs, where a spectacular cake demo took place and a photographer and a videographer conveyed the dos and don’ts of finding the right company to capture those once-in-a-lifetime memories.
