Summer weddings are upon us and many couples opt for an outdoor wedding. Outdoor summer weddings are beautiful and we love the natural backdrop. For summer weddings, the downside is the heat, especially here in the south which can make it uncomfortable for wedding participants and guests. You don’t have to completely eliminate the outdoor options off your list, but remember these few tips and it will make it more enjoyable for everyone!!
Have your wedding during the cooler part of the day and in a shaded area or provide a tent if possible. Also, make sure your wedding participants’ attire are lighter in both color and material.
Serve a frozen treat: Whether it’s gourmet ice cream or popsicles for the kids or alcohol infused treats for the adults. Something cold and flavorful is sure to be a hit.
Have lots of cool water on hand: Water cooling stations infused with fruit or cucumber is not only pretty to look at but also great for keeping guest cool at summer outdoor weddings. Accessorize your summer outdoor wedding with cooling options for your guests: Consider printing programs on fans. Use parasols as aisle décor or at each guest seat. The parasols will not only provide guests with their own personal source of shade but if you get them in your wedding colors they will add color dimension to your outdoor celebration.
